Hi Dr. Nobis. I read through your essay and thought it was presented very well. I wanted to ask you a question, though, about your distinction between the term atheist and non-theist. I certainly agree with the difference between affirming God does not exist vs. lacking belief God does exist, but I was curious how that difference plays out in reality in your view. In other words, what does that difference in belief actually look like in practice? Furthermore, since non-theists can be agnostics but not all are, what exactly is the difference between not believing there is a God vs. suspending judgement on the question? Hope this isn't too difficult to answer in a comment, looking forward to reading more of your work!
Hi, thanks for reading and your question. About the first, to be fair, let's think about the question how being a theist "looks in practice." The answer there is that there are many ways being a theist can look in practice: think of the many different types of theists. Likewise, the same is roughly true for all other views. About the second, please see the article on the differences between atheism and agnosticism. Thanks!
